Fixture Guidelines

Selection Guide

When selecting pendant fixtures, consider sightlines.  For example, if a bowl pendant fixture, such as our Dolce Family, will be seen from the top of a stairway or balcony, a translucent acrylic top cover may be provided to block the view of the lamps.

When selecting wall mounted fixtures, first determine whether or not it must comply with ADA requirements.  Also, consider sightlines as shown below.

ADA Requirements

The Americans with Disabilities Act, known as ADA, affects light fixtures used in circulation or egress spaces.  In practice, this means that wall mounted fixtures located below 6'8" above finished floor in halls, corridors, passageways, or aisles must be no greater than 4" deep.  Many of our wall sconces are ADA compliant.  ADA affects construction for both new and existing buildings.

Sightlines

When wall mounted fixtures are used in or near stairways, or can be viewed from a balcony or lower level, consider the use of a translucent acrylic top or bottom cover.  Our fixtures can be modified to accommodate this option.
